A special dinner was hosted by ABCO on May 23rd , the fourth in a series of events for churches interested in beginning the EKG (Expanding the Kingdom of God) capital campaign.  Held at The Old Spaghetti Factory, Clackamas, nine churches braved the storm and rain to attend.  Campaign consultant, Bob Crandall, was on hand to help the churches learn how to begin the campaign, methods for conducting it, and resources available. Churches represented at this meeting were FBC Carlton; Friendship Christian Fellowship; FBC Oregon City; New Hope Korean; Word of Life; Grant Park Baptist; FBC Gresham; Grace Baptist; and Valley River, bringing our total to 15 churches who have entered into the EKG campaign at some level.  Others are planning to come on board as future meetings are held around the state.

Examples of very successful local church EKG campaigns include FBC Springfield and Calvary Baptist. Both churches have gone beyond their goals! After his church voted to raise their goal for the second time, Pastor Gregg Sneller commented ““Every year this congregation continues to amaze me with their outward focus. This is just one more demonstration of how much God cares about the lives of people both now and in the future. Because of the generosity of one family with a matching gift, it's quite possible that the gift to EKG will exceed $100,000.  We hope many lives will be touched by Christ." First Springfield has now doubled their goal, and pledged just under $21,000 for the campaign.

Praise be to God! These contributions will allow our ABCO church family to plant new churches here in Oregon, provide revitalization grants for churches seeking God’s vision for their ministry in the coming years, and money to continue improvements to our facility at Arrah Wanna in order to reach hundreds more for Christ each year.
