Coming Soon! The American Baptist Churches of Oregon are beginning a multi-year emphasis on church renewal as a part of our Vibrant Life Ministries. Beginning with our Annual gathering this fall, ABCO will be focusing on tools and resources to foster growth and renewal in our American Baptist congregations. This emphasis will be available for participation by all our ABC churches, and will include a variety of models for growth and renewal. Conversations are already underway with Jim Herrington from Mission Houston, and other nationally recognized voices in the area of church renewal ministries. This emphasis is made possible by your generous support of the Region Mission Offering, and the Expanding the Kingdom of God capital campaign.

Quips and Quotes:

Apple computer guru Steve Jobs describes the difference between television and the Web as the difference between lean-back and sit-forward media. The networked computer makes you lean in, focus, engage, while television encourages you to zone out. Quoted from Everything Bad is Good for You, by Steven Johnson

What implications does this have for our services of worship? Are our services more like TV or the computer?
